About Jennifer Abel

International speaker, Dr. Jennifer L. Abel has, engaged over 300 audiences with her expertise in anxiety and worry. A gifted storyteller, she uses relatable personal illustrations, humor, metaphors, demonstrations, audience participation, and pop-cultural tie-ins for a memorable and empowering experience. Her keynotes draw on 30 years as a clinical psychologist utilizing creative and evidence-based approaches.


The author of three books, Dr. Abel’s latest, The Anxiety, Worry, and Depression Workbook, is a best-seller. Her therapy decks are also very popular. The Melt Worry & Relax Card Deck and Melt Anxiety & Relax Card Deck for Kids, each provide 56 insights and tools based on research and clinical experience. 


Dr. Abel’s focus on anxiety disorders began during her graduate work and continued into internship. She completed a post-doc at Penn State working exclusively with individuals suffering from Generalized Anxiety Disorder (characterized by excessive and uncontrollable worry) before being promoted to Assistant Director of the Stress and Anxiety Disorders Institute there. Dr. Abel retired from decades of private practice to focus exclusively on sharing her expertise with large audiences through speaking engagements.
